Help protect Skaneateles Lake from invasive aquatic species by joining our Macrophyte Survey Program.
Led by experts from the Finger Lakes Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISM), this training will teach volunteers how to identify and report aquatic plants that could threaten the health of our lake.
As an important “eye on the water,” you’ll learn how to collect and submit observations using a simple rake-toss method and the free ArcGIS Survey123 app. The information you gather helps support early detection and rapid response efforts against invasive species like the dreaded hydrilla.
No prior experience is necessary—just a love for the lake and a willingness to help protect it.
