Current Members of the Skaneateles Lake Association

There are over 1650 different households, businesses, and organizations which have donated to the Milfoil Project between 2007 and 2010 and/or joined the Skaneateles Lake Association since 2011.

The following is a list of the 922 current memberships representing 1550 current members (those who joined the SLA between September 13, 2023 and October 13, 2024.   SLA memberships are accepted throughout the year and are effective for 12 months from the date paid.  In addition to these members, the Skaneateles Lake Association receives sustaining support from New York State, Onondaga County, the City of Syracuse and gratis slips for the Milfoil Team boats from the Skaneateles Marina and a gratis mooring for the Dr. Robert Werner Research & Education Boat from the Skaneateles Country Club. 

Our membership fees cover about 90% of the expenses of our two annual programs:  the Milfoil Control Program and the Invasive Species Monitoring Steward Program established at launch sites around the lake.  These two programs are essential to controlling the invasive Eurasian Milfoil that is in Skaneateles Lake and helping to prevent the introduction of further invasives into the lake water, particularly the very fast growing invasive, Hydrilla.

We simply could not do what we do without our members.  Over 700 of these current 922 memberships have been sustained for 5 or more years.
