Current Members of the Skaneateles Lake Association

There are over 1800 different individual, family, business and organizational members who have supported the Skaneateles Lake Association ‘s (SLA) Lake Protection efforts with their annual memberships and additional generous between 2007 and 2026.

SLA memberships are accepted throughout the year and are effective for 12 months from the date paid.  In addition to these members, the Skaneateles Lake Association receives sustaining support from New York State, Onondaga County, the City of Syracuse and gratis slips from the Skaneateles Marina and a gratis “dry sail” space from the Skaneateles Country Club for Legacy (the new Milfoil and Lake Protection Boat) and the Dr. Robert Werner Research & Education Boat.

Our membership fees cover about 90% of the expenses of our two annual programs: the Milfoil Control Program and the Invasive Species Boat Launch Steward Program established at launch sites around the lake.  These two programs are essential to controlling the invasive Eurasian watermilfoil that is in Skaneateles Lake and helping to prevent the introduction of further invasives into the lake, particularly the very fast growing invasive, Hydrilla.

We simply could not do what we do without our members.  Over 540 of these current 1011 memberships have been sustained for 5 or more years.

You can join the SLA Membership Promotion Team. Just take a few minutes to go through the current member list below and determine if there is anyone missing who:

• Swims, paddles, canoes, kayaks, waterskies, sails or boats on the Lake;
• Fishes the Lake;
• Drinks the Lake water;
• Lives on the Lake or has property with access to the Lake;
• Has a business that thrives with Lake customers; OR
• Just Loves the Lake
